Intel will only launch the Meteor Lake architecture processor in 2023, and the core design of the next-generation Lunar Lake architecture processor has also been exposed. In addition to the built-in GPU upgrade to Xe2, it also added the new Lunar Lake-MX mobile device product line, with the lowest TDP power consumption. Only 8W.
The core overall design concept of the Lunar Lake architecture processor continues the Intel Core Ultra 100 series Meteor Lake architecture and is equipped with an independent NPU core to perform AI functions. However, Lunar Lake has been upgraded to NPU version 4.0, which greatly improves efficiency. The CPU P-core and E-core will also be upgraded. The power consumption of different core block connections is greatly reduced, up to 75%, for better power control.

What has changed is that Intel has newly added the Lunar Lake-MX mobile device product line. From the exposure content, it is clear that the product is designed for mobile devices. Although the product naming method is not yet clear, it should continue to have two levels of Core 7 and 5. Core Both are composed of four P-core + four E-core, while Core 7 has a six-core NPU and Core 5 has a five-core NPU.
Lunar Lake-MX has a minimum power consumption of only 8W, supports fanless fully passive cooling design, and also provides a TDP 17 30W high-performance version for fan devices. Lunar Lake-MX also adopts Foveros multi-chip packaging design, which stacks two sets of DRAM chips with the CPU. There are two solutions, 16GB and 32GB, supporting up to LPDDR5x-8533. It also adopts the new Battlemage architecture Xe2-LPG built-in GPU and supports DisplayPort 1.4 , HDMI 2.1, eDP1.4, 1.5 display output, and VVC / H.266 decoding.
There is still very little information on the Xe2 GPU, only the chip code is confirmed to be Battlemage. The development of Intel GPU has not been smooth, so the Battlemage project has not been confirmed. For Lunar Lake-MX to be launched on time this year, the Battlemage GPU must be online at the same time as the processor at the latest. It is predicted that the Battlemage GPU will be Intel’s selling point for promoting Lunar Lake-MX.
