Intel expanded the 14th generation processor family at CES 2024, and the first benchmarks following the hardware’s official launch are being released on the web. This Friday (12), we discovered a test carried out with the Core i5-14600T, a model that belongs to the “T” line, characterized by a TDP of 35 W.
The processor appeared in Geekbench 6.2 reaching 2,626 points in a single-core test and 15,354 points in a test with all 14 cores. We are talking regarding a platform with a maximum clock rate of 3.6 GHz and 5.1 GHz on its high-efficiency “E” cores and high-performance “P” cores, respectively.
The performance of the Core i5-14600T drew attention because it was significantly close to the Core i5-14600, its most powerful version with a TDP of 65 W, which achieves an average of 2,785 points in single-core and 16,110 in multi-core. We are talking regarding a difference of 6%.
It is worth remembering that the Core i5-14600T can scale its power up to 92 W, while the Core i5-14600 can reach 152 W. The benchmark data suggests that the reduced consumption version may be more efficient when compared to the standard model , since, despite the vast difference in consumption, it presents very similar performance.
It is important to note that the tests are preliminary and do not necessarily represent the actual performance of each of the processors. Furthermore, the exact power consumption of the chips is not revealed by Geekbench.
The Core i5-14600T will hit the market with a suggested price of US$255, that is, around R$1,249. For those looking for greater performance, Intel offers the Core i5-14600K, which supports overclocking and works with a TDP of 125 W.
This is the last generation of the company’s processors to use the “Core i” nomenclature. From 2024 onwards, it is expected that all chips will have the new “Core” and “Core Ultra” brands. Examples of products that have already been released under the change include the Core Ultra 7 165H and Core 7 150U — both designed for notebooks.
