Intel Arc A580: Affordable graphics card officially announced with 8 GB VRAM

Intel’s mid-range model Arc A580 from Intel has been conspicuously absent from the product stack. The mid-range card was to be launched as an alternative to the Radeon RX 7600, and recent leaks have confirmed this hypothesis. The desktop graphics card is now official and available for sale worldwide, starting at $189.

The Intel Arc A580 has 8 GB of VRAM with 24 Xe cores and 24 Raytracing units. Intel claims it runs at 2.0 GHz, which is much higher than the 1.7 GHz figure mentioned on the spec sheet. Other features include a total memory bandwidth of 512 GB/s (256-bit bus) and a TGP of 185 watts. This should make it an attractive option for 1080p gaming, even more so when paired with an affordable processor like the Core i3-13100.

Intel didn’t show much in terms of raw performance. Instead, he focused on the performance of the Arc A580 with its XeSS image upscaling technology, which increases performance by 63% on average across 12 different titles. For creators, the Arc A580 includes a dedicated AV1 encoder and built-in AI accelerator. Arc Control now has a studio feature for streamers.
