Intel confirmed this Monday (15), through its official website, the launch of the Core i7-14790F, a new processor that will be part of the “Black Edition” line. This series includes products that are usually only introduced on the Chinese market, featuring an exclusive box and different specifications compared to conventional models.

The Core i7-14790F is equipped with 16 cores and 24 threads, so we are talking regarding an 8-core high-performance and 8-core high-efficiency configuration. The CPU has a maximum clock speed of 5.4 GHz and stands out for having 36 MB of L3 cache and 24 MB of L3 cache. The TDP is 65 W, but it can reach power of up to 219 W.

With its “F” suffix, we know that the processor does not have an integrated graphics card. It has become standard for models in the “Black Edition” family to be launched without a GPU, such as the Core i5-13490F and Core i7-13790F, launched in 2023.

Given its nomenclature, the model can be considered a alternative version of the Core i7-14700Fwhich boasts a total of 20 cores, which naturally guarantees greater performance in multitasking and other use cases.

At the same time, the Core i7-14790F offers greater L2 cache memory capacity, which, although a small advantage, can be useful in games and other tasks.

The Core i7-14790F will hit retail for consumers looking to build a PC, so it won’t be available exclusively to device makers. The suggested price was not revealed, but it is worth remembering that the Core i7-14700F was officially presented at CES 2024 with a suggested price of US$359 (around R$1,749).
