Integrity controls fictitious purchase transactions at Al-Najaf International Airport

Today, Monday, the Integrity Commission announced the seizure of sham purchase transactions at Al-Najaf International Airport.

And the Commission’s investigation department stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the work team of the Najaf Investigation Office, following carrying out investigation and audit work, was able to seize fictitious purchase transactions at Najaf International Airport,” pointing out that “the purchase committee at the airport spent an amount ( $504,976) illegally.”

The department added, “The staff of the office revealed, in a second operation, violations of the controls and instructions by the (Execution Secretariat) committee for the project to rehabilitate the gynecological surgery operating rooms in Al-Zahra Hospital in the governorate, indicating that the priorities for the exchange documents were seized in the Accounts Division of the Health Department.” Najaf, for the project whose allocations amounted to (249,950,000) dinars.

And she continued, “The team, following receiving a letter from a member of Parliament from the Najaf governorate, monitored several violations that accompanied the process of announcing (3) plots of land by the Investment Commission and the municipality and urban planning directorates in the province,” noting that “the announcement of the plots has been published.” Lands for a period of one day only, instead of (30) days, in addition to violating the design from a green belt to residential, and violating the investment map and the sorting mechanism.
