Major General Gamal Awad, head of the National Organization for Social Insurance, confirmed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi anticipates events and has a vision for the future, and commented on the social protection package approved by the government commissioned by President El-Sisi, saying: “The president stands by the weak groups in society.”
Major General Gamal Awad added, in a telephone interview to the “From Egypt” program, with the media Amr Khalil, on CBC, that President Sisi always supports the neediest groups within society, noting that 30% of pensioners receive from 1,000 to 2,000 pounds. The 300 is too high for them.
He continued: “Approximately 11 million pensioners benefit from the new increase of 300 pounds,” noting that the package of social measures aims to support the neediest groups, and as of November 1, the pensions will be disbursed with the new increases.
