Lucas Victoriano highlighted the pride of his team. “Once once more in an important game the team showed character. It did not reach us but I am proud of my team, of my players”, highlighted the coach of Instituto following the 79-71 defeat once morest Flamengo from Brazil that left Instituto without a chance of advancing to the quarterfinals of the Basketball Champions League Americas (BCL).
“We mightn’t once morest an excellent team, with a tremendous offensive arsenal. Now I have to support my players to get ahead”, added Victoriano.
While point guard Nicolás Copello highlighted that “there were some rushes at the end, but the shots we took were well taken, so luck was lacking. I think so, there was a bit of the luck factor, because they got in and we didn’t”.
“Everything is experience to learn for new challenges,” added Copello, with tears in his eyes.
What comes for Institute
Instituto must complete the third “window” of the BCL at the Sandrín this Wednesday once morest Peñarol, classified second to the quarterfinals behind the leader of Group C, Flamengo. But Gloria will have to put the chip in Super 20 Cup mode, which will define the weekend.
“We are going to try to reach the definition of the Super 20 fresh but assuming the importance of the match with Peñarol, respecting a competition as important as the Champions League. I don’t know how we’re going to go out and play. The youth who work with the players are likely to have more opportunities,” Victoriano said.
On Saturday, from 9:30 p.m., Instituto will face Obras, which will be local to the Temple of Rock, in one of the semifinals of the Super 20 Cup. The cast of Alta Córdoba defends the title won in 2021 (start of the 2021 season /2022) with another dispute format.
The other semifinal will be animated by Gimnasia de Comodoro Rivadavia and Oberá Tenis de Misiones.
The final of the Super 20 Cup will be on Sunday, starting at 8:30 p.m., at the Temple of Rock.
