At the age of 25, a bike became the focus of the movie Aniyathipravu. The bike used in the movie Kunchacko Boban was later bought by Bonnie, an employee of a private car showroom in Alappuzha. A quarter of a century following the film’s release, Kunchacko Boban bought the bike back from Bonnie. Bonnie shared that experience with Manorama News.
‘This bike was named following the MD at the shop where I work. The car was seen in 2006. Sir was asked if he was giving this car. Many people did not have much interest in this car because it was red. Many people know that it is my uncle’s car following I bought it. A number of YouTube channels came in and shot it. So many people knew.
One day Kunchacko Boban called me on the phone and said, ‘Hello Bonnie, I wish I might get your car.’ When asked who it was, he replied that it was Chackochan. At first I thought someone was going to get stuck. He also said that I did not call him directly. He said it would have been better if the answer had been given immediately and that the vehicle needed to be delivered as soon as possible.
He asked if I might transfer the vehicle if one of my people was left there. I also asked for two days time. But he needed this bike as soon as possible. Thought for a whole day. He called me the next day and said the man had left. So the man came here. Came and talked. What is the demand? Asked if he wanted cash.
No cash, I wish I had a new car. I’m going to work on this bike. If you get a new bike instead, the work will go smoothly. So Chackochan called back and told Bonnie to take the car of her choice. I wanted to buy a car right from where I work. So Splendor’s new model was chosen. They sent all the cash right away, “said Bonnie.
