Within the framework of World Energy Savings Day, Governor Jehyson Guzmán and the National Electric Corporation (Corpoelec), installed the 1st National Congress of Alternative Energies and Energy Savings Mérida Chapter, where important advances in solar farm systems were shown in the entity, an activity that aimed to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources.

In this context, the Secretary of Public Services, Marielys Sacipa, highlighted the importance of the solar panel systems installed in the state, such as Bubuqui in the Alberto Adriani municipality, which supplies the pumping and housing systems, Llano El Anis del Sucre municipality and the Neonatology area of ​​the Los Andes University Hospital (IAHULA).

Likewise, he mentioned the Piñango hydroelectric system in the Miranda municipality, which provides energy to 90% of its population and the new installation of solar panels at the La Aguada station, of the Mérida cable car system, which will guarantee the operation of the telecommunications system in the state and the alternative energy system, in the town of Los Nevados.

This great congress featured an exhibition of lamp units and solar panels, by the different managements of Corpoelec, as well as energy-saving light bulbs and electrical equipment, where guests and specialists in the area exchanged knowledge for the creation of photovoltaic systems.

The activity was attended by the vice minister of Alternative Sources, Tania Masea, the governor of Mérida, Jehyson Guzmán, the popular power and other related authorities in the area.
