Installation Joint Design – Window Guide

Installation Joint Design – Window Guide

The 2023 version of UNI 10818 has defined two possible types of construction site: in the presence of an architectural designer and a works manager and in the absence of these two figures, breaking down the different phases of the window and door supply process for both situations. According to UNI 10818:2023, in the presence of an architectural designer and a works manager, the preparation of the executive project of the installation joint is attributed to the window and door supplier, unless otherwise specified in the contract. In this case, the window and door fitter must have the specific knowledge to be able to draw up the installation project, which must be validated by the architectural designer with regard to correctness and coherence with the overall architectural project and with the specifications. In the absence of an architectural designer and a works manager, the window and door supplier will indicate to the client the design choices underlying the executive installation project.
