This is the possibility of publishing“prompts”, that is, notes that stimulate interaction. With this, the original content is highlighted, allowing followers of the person who published it to respond, so that all responses received are displayed (according to the privacy option defined) when tapping a note.

Os prompts will appear next to conventional notes, in the tab Direct Messages (DMs), where they can also be responded to using the corresponding button — which must also be done to see the responses.

For Mosseri, “by giving people more ways to participate, they can feel more comfortable expressing themselves and connecting with friends in the notes.” The process of posting a prompt It’s the same as publishing a note today, by tapping your profile photo in the row above the direct messages, and simply selecting the new option.

The new feature is still being tested and it has not been revealed when it will be made available to all users, although it can already be seen by some people. The broad release should take place some time from now, when the social network finishes testing, fixes bugs and makes the necessary adjustments.

Notes were added to Instagram in December 2022, with the aim of being a way to express yourself in a short and objective way, in up to 60 characters, with the content being displayed for 24 hours. Afterwards, it became possible to share music and videos of up to two seconds through the resource.
