Instagram may soon let you rearrange your old photos

Currently, or almost unchanging, your Instagram profile’s post gallery might become more flexible. The platform is indeed testing a new function that would allow users to reorganize posts as they wish.

Who has never wanted to rearrange the old photos in their gallery Instagram? Currently, the application mainly allows you to archive or delete posts, but a new option, much more interesting, might appear. According to Alessandro Paluzzi, mobile developer active on Twitter, Instagram is currently working on a feature to modify the grid of publications on the profile.

It would then be possible to rearrange the content in the order you want, all using a simple drag and drop – a bit like it would for applications on the main menu of a smartphone. If we are to believe the screenshots shared by Alessandro Paluzzi, this option must however be activated beforehand from the profile information. For now, it would also be tested only on professional accounts.

Give more freedom to users

As the Moderator’s Blog , this novelty would initially allow influencers, brands and more generally professionals to have greater freedom in the arrangement of their publications on their profiles. It is also possible that Instagram will come to ogle TikTok and Twitter by allowing certain users to pin content.

This novelty, currently being tested with a small number of users, might be adopted globally on the platform. However, it is not known when the official deployment would be expected. This feature is in any case part of a clearly displayed desire by Instagram to improve the level of personalization of the experience.

Recently, Adam Mosseri, CEO of the group, presented on Twitter one of the expected changes on the platform to go in this direction: the ability to easily juggle between three different, but complementary views for the main screen of the application.

Testing Feed Changes ????

We’re starting to test the ability to switch between three different views on your home screen (two of which would give you the option to see posts in chronological order):
– Home
– Favorites
– Following

We hope to launch these soon. More to come. ✌???? pic.twitter.com/9zvB85aPSp
