O Instagram today announced a relevant upgrade for Grades. Previously only making it possible to publish statuses in text (or, at most, indicate a song), the feature now allows users to also add notes with videowhich can be seen by mutual followers or close friends for 24 hours.
Although they can be seen as “competitors” for Stories, video notes should not steal the traditional audience from the most popular feature on the Meta platform, as it will only be possible to publish a two-second looped video — which will certainly limit its use. use in very specific scenarios.
Another restriction is the need to record the note with video directly from the Instagram camera and, necessarily, using the front lens. It is still possible to add a text caption to the video before publishing it, in case it is necessary to provide some context.
The way to publish a note with video follows the same way that is currently used to publish one with text: just go to the notes field in messages, tap “Your note” and then the camera icon that appears next to your photo. Once this is done, the recording screen opens.
In the notes panel, you don’t need to tap a note to view it — they automatically rotate in thumbnail form and you can’t enlarge them. But the possibilities for responding to them have also been expanded, making it now possible to use audio, photos, videos, GIFs and stickers for this purpose.
