A new screenshot shared by the developer specializing in reverse engineering Alexander Paluzzi indicates that the Instagram would be considering allowing the publication of Reels with until 10 minutes long. Currently, it is worth remembering that it is only possible to upload videos with a maximum duration of 3 minutes to the platform.

The developer, known for leaking social media features that are still in development, shared two images: the first shows the current maximum duration limit for Reels, while the second appears with an indication of the new maximum duration. This, by the way, was not the first time that Paluzzi leaked a duration limit for Reels videos.

O #Instagram is working on the ability to create #Reels up to 10 minutes long ????

More attentive users should remember that Instagram has allowed the publication of videos of up to 15 minutes in its main feed for some time, which are automatically transformed into Reels. Apparently, the new 10-minute limit is only taken into account in the case of videos recorded and published with Reels’ own capture tool.

This novelty, if implemented, will put Reels on the same level as its main rival, the TikTokwhich already allows the publication of videos up to 10 minutes long for all users and up to 20 minutes for subscribed users.

Asked by Engadget regarding this new limit, Instagram tried to put warm cloths on the subject. While confirming that the screenshots shared by Paluzzi are real, the social network said this is an “internal prototype” that is not currently being tested with users.
