Promised in February, the Meta announced today that the collaboration feature is now available on Broadcast Channels (Broadcast Channels, in free translation) of Instagram. The news was revealed through the company’s social networks de Mark Zuckerberg.
According to Meta, the new function allows content creators to invite other users to the same channel, enabling greater interaction with fans — who can be added to the channel to send questions or leave messages, for example.
Announced in February, the channels were designed as a way to bring creators closer to their followers. That’s because they can share texts, videos and photos with a large number of people — something similar to what Telegram already offers.
For now, Broadcast Channels is being tested with a select group of creators in the United States, according to the company. Meta’s plan is to expand the feature’s availability in the coming months.
In addition to Instagram, the company also plans to test Broadcast Channels on Messenger and Facebook in the future. The initiative demonstrates Meta’s commitment to providing creators with new tools to engage with their followers.
