Instagram will integrate NFTs into its future metaverse

Instagram had already shown interest in the digital asset sector Last year. Adam Mosseri, head of the social network, said his teams were actively exploring NFTs. Shortly following, a rumor relayed by the artist Sean Williams came to assure that Instagram is developing an alternative NFT exchange platform. At the same time, Meta raised the idea ofintegrate NFTs into your digital wallet being tested in several countries, the so-called Novi.

Mark Zuckerberg did not reveal what form the integration of non-fungible tokens on the platform will take. “I’m not ready to announce exactly what it’s going to be like today. But over the next few months there will be the option to add some of your NFTs”details the founder of Meta.

Secondly, the social network might make it possible to directly design a non-fungible token on its interface. As part of this process, all you need to do is register the digital asset on a blockchain. In general, it is l’Ethereum (ETH).

Unsurprisingly, NFTs will play a major role in the rise of the metaverse. “I hope you know that the clothes your avatar wears in the metaverse, you know, can be NFT”, underlines Mark Zuckerberg. With blockchain technology, each user’s clothing will be certified and authenticated as unique. The CEO moderates and specifies that there is “lots of technical stuff that needs to be ironed out before it can really come together”.
