Insiders reveal Trump’s anger attacks in the New York Times – Berliner Morgenpost

Washington. The tide has turned for Donald Trump. New revelations document how the former president is increasingly losing his composure.

There are probably few things that Donald Trump is as obsessed with as the size of CrowdsNo one is capable of mobilizing the masses like he is. That is what the 78-year-old claims, at least – again and again. His predecessor Barack Obama or civil rights icon Martin Luther King – no competition. And Kamala Harris certainly isn’t.

The reality is different: Kamala Harris attracted thousands of spectators at her first official appearances as a presidential candidate. This was also the case in Detroit, Michigan, where she spoke to almost 15,000 supporters at the airport. That’s not necessarily unusual, but Trump’s response certainly is.

Trump with confusing conspiracy theory

Trump posted a photo of the crowd in Detroit on his platform Truth Social and wrote: “Look, we caught them with their fake crowd. There was no one there!” The images were manipulated, said the Republican presidential candidate, the people were actually created with artificial intelligence.

An accusation that is so absurd because it is so easy to refute. Reporters, photojournalists and, not least, countless supporters themselves, who pulled out their mobile phones, were at the event and documented the events. There are Recordings from all possible angles.

The latest Conspiracy theory from the Trump household fits the picture that an insider report from the “New York Times” recently painted. For him, reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan reconstructed the “worst three weeks” of the Trump campaign so far: how everything suddenly turned upside down with Joe Biden’s withdrawal and how the hype surrounding Kamala Harris drove the ex-president mad. The revelations from the article have since been quoted with relish by US media, liberal opinion makers and late-night talk shows like Stephen Colbert. Three points stand out.

1. Trump is angry and upset

Trump felt after what Joe Biden saw as catastrophic TV duel and the failed assassination attempt on him, he seemed like the sure winner of the upcoming elections. The fact that he suddenly had to deal with an opponent almost 20 years younger than him, for whom he and his team had not prepared, is said to have frustrated him. For weeks, he and his team have been unable to find a strategy to break the Democrat’s momentum.

Although he has already insulted his opponent in public, things are apparently even more rude in private. Trump has on several occasions referred to Harris as „Bitch“meaning “slut,” the paper quotes two anonymous insiders. Trump spokesman Steven Cheung denies this. “That is not the language President Trump has used to describe Kamala, nor is it the way the campaign would characterize her.”

According to the report, even former advisors such as Kellyanne Conway turned to Trump and advised him to stop making personal attacks and criticizing Harris for her policies. To no avail. Hardly a day goes by when Trump doesn’t call his rival “stupid” or “evil” or question her identity as a black woman.

The reporters themselves also felt Trump’s anger. A few days before the report was published, there was a phone call with the Presidential candidatesIn it, Trump threatened to sue because the newspaper had reported that an alleged near-crash in which he and former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown were on board a helicopter probably never happened. Brown, at least, denies this. In public posts, Trump also changed the reporter’s first name to “Maggot.”

2. Trump goes after his own donors

According to the report, Trump is said to have one of his richest Donors have been massively attacked. Miriam Adelson is the widow of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson. She is pumping millions of US dollars into a Super Pac that is supporting Trump in his candidacy. Super Pacs make it possible to circumvent the requirements for donations from individuals. Rich supporters can thus put practically unlimited financial resources into the election campaign.

But Trump was apparently not satisfied with the support. He is said to have instructed a person from his campaign team to send messages to Adelson on his behalf. The content was not very friendly. Trump is said to have been annoyed with the leadership of the Super-Pacs Her husband would never have allowed such a thing to happen. Now Trump’s team fears that Adelson could reduce her support.

3. Trump sticks with Vance – but he is not satisfied

According to the New York Times, wealthy Trump supporters are anything but enthusiastic about Trump’s running mate JD Vance. But Trump immediately rejected suggestions to replace Vance.

Trump is apparently not satisfied either. In a small group, he is said to have asked his advisers whether Vance’s comments about “childless cat women” before he made the 40-year-old his running mate. The interview that surfaced gave Vance a colossal false start. His popularity ratings are catastrophic.

Trump is also said to have claimed to donors that the Harris campaign’s jibes that he and Vance „weird“that is, strange, did not apply to him at all. “That’s what they say about JD,” the former president assured the donors.
