Insider: Sony is involved in the development of the new Silent Hill

Company Sony Interactive Entertainment involved in the development of a new Silent Hill. About this in correspondence with forum users Reset told an insider Dusk Golem.

On the morning of May 13 Dusk Golem distributed the first possible screenshots and art of the Silent Hill restart through his page on the social network Twitter. Shortly therefollowing, the images were removed “at the request of the copyright holder”, which gave the leak veracity.

The insider said that he knows more regarding the new Silent Hill, but he cannot yet publicly disclose the details. At ResetEra, he only confirmed Sony’s participation in the project, but did not specify which studio was eventually developing.

Rumors of Sony funding a relaunch of Silent Hill as a PlayStation 5 exclusive have been circulating online for several years now.

In 2021, the media reported that Konami had agreed to produce several new parts of Silent Hill with a number of studios in different parts of the world. One of the games presumably created by the Polish Bloober Teamand the second one is supposedly being done by Japanese developers.

October edition Gematsu reported that “Japanese developers” are Kojima Productions. Site Sources Claim Sony Funds Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hill.

Recall that Kojima was going to restart Silent Hill at the beginning of the PlayStation 4 generation. In the summer of 2024, while still an employee of Konami, he announced Silent Hills starring Norman Reedusand the demo of this game called PT made a splash in the industry.

A few months later Kojima retired from Konami, and the development of the project was cancelled.
