According to Insider Gaming sources, Quantic Dream is currently suffering from severe staff shortages. Professionals do not want to work under the leadership of David Cage, being aware of the unhealthy atmosphere in his team, intimidation, harassment and even sexual harassment.
Acute staff shortages, ambitious game plans, and a lack of in-house experience developing open-world action games (all Quantic Dream games have been in the “interactive movie” genre) have meant work in Star Wars Eclipse is still in an early stage, with a release not scheduled until 2026, according to Henderson.
Despite all the studio’s woes, Tom Henderson believes that Eclipse might be the biggest and most ambitious Star Wars game other studios are currently working on.
