With these numbers, there is a risk of dizziness!

Rich and rich like to join: Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos (59) is engaged to his partner Lauren Sánchez (53). And of course: When a groom brings a fortune of 140 billion dollars (130.47 billion euros) to the marriage, everything cries out for the marriage contract.

In his first marriage to MacKenzie Scott (53), the very wealthy entrepreneur had not signed a prenuptial agreement – which ultimately cost him $ 38 billion (35.41 billion euros). He definitely doesn’t want to make that mistake once more.

Bezos loves it big and expensive: he proposed to his sweetheart on his $500 million yacht (the second largest in the world).

But Sánchez, too, has amassed quite a fortune as a successful businesswoman. In addition, the couple already owns a property in Hawaii (almost six hectares on the beach in Maui, $ 78 million – € 72.78 million – purchase price) and charities.

► Therefore check who is bound forever: There is a lot at stake financially for this power couple. BILD shows the enormous sums, possessions and symbols of power that Bezos and Sánchez bring to the table!

His earnings: $12 million an hour

Bezos still holds ten percent of the shares in Amazon and is making a lot of money from the growth. The Internet giant has long since expanded its portfolio and made substantial purchases: the airline “Amazon Air”, the MGM film studio, broadcasting rights for sporting events…

And the founder likes to spend his money. As the third richest man in the world (following Bernard Arnault and Elon Musk), the list of Bezos’ fortunes is so long that it can only be a short list. But that already has it all.

► Bezos makes regarding $12 million an hour, or $3,600 a second, according to Bloomberg.

Where does all that money go? Bezos' answer: buy, buy, buy!

► As befits a tycoon, Bezos owns two (!) private jets. Each individual cost at least 70 million dollars (65.22 million euros) – not counting customizations.

► In 2013, Bezos bought the US newspaper “The Washington Post” for $ 250 million (232.94 million euros).

► His mansions and estates have a combined value of $500 million. This makes him one of the 25 largest landowners in the United States. His greatest gem: the four-acre mansion in Beverly Hills that Bezos acquired in 2020 for $165 million (153.74 million euros) – the most expensive real estate purchase in Los Angeles at the time. The villa (eight bedrooms, ten bathrooms, lagoon pool, spa, tennis court) was once built for Harry Warner, one of the founders of the media empire Warner Bros.

► Bezos has also struck in Manhattan: an apartment over five floors (96 million dollars – 89.56 million euros – expensive) and four other apartments belong to him.

► The man with the fat purse lives in Washington, DC in 2500 square meters. In 2016 he paid 23 million dollars (21.43 million euros) for it. Ten bedrooms, eight bathrooms, eleven fireplaces and a private garden sweeten city life. And just to be on the safe side, he also bought the house opposite in 2020: Another 445 square meters of space and a modest four rooms now belong to him.

Like I said, that was just a selection…

No, the Taj Mahal does not belong to Jeff Bezos (yet). But he did have two more mansions in Beverly Hills: a seven-bedroom Spanish-style mansion (bought in 2007 for $24 million), ten years later he bought the house next door for $12 million

Business woman with millions account

Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sánchez has also earned a fortune – although she doesn’t measure up to the size of her groom.

As a businesswoman, she has fulfilled a dream: The former actress and news anchor founded “Black Ops Aviation” in 2016, the first aerial film and production company owned by a woman. Today she is said to have a net worth of $30 million.

Her company owns two helicopters and one airplane. Sánchez shoots videos from the air for her clients (Netflix, Sony, ABC, among others) – and, as a licensed helicopter pilot, loves to be at the controls herself.

Sánchez is also the proud owner of a home: her ex-husband, Patrick Whitesell, transferred the common property in Washington to her following their divorce. With her husband at the time and their two sons, she lived right next to Bezos, his wife and their four children.

The couple bought the 650-square-foot mansion in 2017 for $6.2 million. Just a year later, her affair with Bezos began…

The first sparks are said to have flown between her and the Amazon founder when he hired her for filming. That was in 2018 — a few helicopter flights together later, both filed for divorce from their then-spouses.

billions to give away

If you have money like hay, you also have something left to give away: Bezos has committed to giving away the majority of his wealth during his lifetime. Last year alone, he donated $710 million to a cancer research center and a total of $123 million to help fight homelessness.

Another $ 100 million (93.16 million euros) for a good cause went to the singer Dolly Parton (77) for her charitable commitment. The soon-to-be Amazon couple donated the prize money in connection with the “Courage and Civility Award”.

So that his money doesn’t evaporate faster than desired, Bezos should probably make better provisions in the event of a second divorce. In 2019, he had to leave his ex-wife a block of Amazon shares worth around $38 billion for 25 years of marriage, making her the third richest woman in the world.

A man of financial superlatives: Even the most expensive divorce in the world is on Bezos cap.
