‘Inside Out 2’, the highest grossing film in Venezuela so far this year, according to a film union

‘Inside Out 2’, the animated film by the American film studio Pixar, became, in less than a month, the highest-grossing film in Venezuela so far this year, the Association of the Film Industry (Asoinci) told EFE on Monday.

Since its release in the Caribbean country on June 13, the animated film has had around 1.22 million viewers, compared to the 340,229 attendees who, in 14 weeks, went to movie theaters to see ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’, by DreamWorks Animation, according to Asoinci.

The second installment of the Pixar film, directed by Kelsey Mann, once more follows the life of Riley, who has entered puberty with new emotions, including anxiety, envy and shame, which join the characters of the first installment, a box office hit in 2015.

In a recent statement, Walt Disney said that ‘Inside Out 2’ had the biggest box office opening of the year and the second-biggest animated box office opening of all time in the United States, behind another Pixar film, ‘Incredibles 2,’ from 2018.

As for its worldwide release, the film “achieved the largest worldwide animated opening of all time,” the company added.
