  • Tennis star Andre Agassi spoke openly regarding his morning routine with Steffi Graf at the Australian Open.

  • Steffi usually gets up before him and never needs an alarm clock.

  • The two also play tennis together from time to time.

Former tennis star Andre Agassi (53) and his even more successful ex-colleague Steffi Graf (54) have been happily married since October 2001. In 2001 they became parents to a son, and in 2003 a daughter was added. The couple still enjoy being together a lot. He now shared details from his morning routine on the sidelines of the Australian Open in Melbourne, which the two of them apparently visited separately for once.

According to Agassi, the native of Mannheim gets up “every day between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.” in their adopted US home of Las Vegas, Nevada. However, he himself “only a few minutes later”.

Steffi Graf is “the alarm clock”

Despite the early hours of the morning, it’s not an alarm clock that signals the end of the night for the two of them. “Steffi doesn’t need an alarm clock – she’s the alarm clock,” he says with a laugh. That’s “German engineering – German thoroughness,” he adds, adding: “She’s always on time.”

In general, he starts the day a little more comfortably, but she is “in top shape early in the morning,” he says approvingly of his wife. What might sound a bit strenuous, especially for evening people, is immediately put into perspective by Agassi: “We enjoy spending time together in the morning hours.”

She beats Andrew in everything

The former master of his field no longer plays tennis as much as he says. “But every now and then I pick up the bat once more, it feels good.” It’s like riding a bike – you don’t forget it. When he plays with his wife, it’s perfect. “I like hitting balls and she likes running,” jokes Agassi. “She turns it into a training session and I just hit a few balls,” he adds.

But Agassi also discovered pickleball for himself – and apparently infected the whole family with his passion for it, as can be seen on Instagram. Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of table tennis, tennis and badminton. «It’s really fun. You can play with your friends and family. I love that and it’s a shockingly good workout,” he enthuses. His wife also “just has it.” Just like always. She beats me in everything,” he admits.
