Insecurity dominates the headlines of Burkinabe newspapers
Ouagadougou, August 17, 2022 (AIB) – This Wednesday’s Burkinabè dailies continue to comment extensively on the security crisis raging in Burkina Faso and its consequences.
“National situation: The art of getting the debate, the enemy and the fight wrong”, features on its headline, the dean of Burkinabe’s private dailies, L’Observateur Paalga.
For him, the security crisis with its corollary on the socio-economic and political situation which arouses many reactions, ended up convincing an author (Iterre Somé, Editor’s note) with his writing to participate in the public debate.
The private newspaper reports that for the author, the country is going through a particularly stressful and distressing situation in its history and according to him, there is no question for the Burkinabè, to be wrong in debate, enemy and fight.
Still in the same dynamic, L’Observateur Paalga points out that the governor of the South-West region, Boureima Sawadogo wants to crack down on calls for discrimination once morest communities in his area, by certain citizens on social networks.
By the way, the private daily Le Pays reports that the former Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs and Regional Cooperation, Alpha Barry, is alerting national opinion to the risks of a civil war in Burkina.
The public newspaper Sidwaya, for its part, dwells on the fight once morest cybercrime in Burkina Faso.
In the (newspaper) read, the Commission for Data Protection (CIL) and the National Information Systems Security Agency (ANSSI) sealed yesterday Tuesday in Ouagadougou, a partnership within the framework of their respective missions.
The private daily L’Express du Faso, published in Bobo-Dioulasso, reveals on its front page: “Burkina: When insecurity causes gold production to fall”.
The press also reports on the imprisonment of two officials of the Perkoa mine following the tragedy that occurred on April 16, in the province of Sanguié.
“Drama Perkoa: The CEO and the manager of the mine in prison”, displays on its headline, the private newspaper Le Pays.
The colleague through his section “Revelations”, underlines that two persons in charge of the mine of Perkoa are in prison, since last Thursday, following the tragedy.
In this regard, Sidwaya, through his column “On Murmure” explains that a heavy rain had caused flooding of the mine on April 16, resulting in the death of eight workers whose lifeless bodies were found following several days of research.
According to the public daily, the trial of this case is scheduled for Wednesday, August 24.
