Samsung has filed a patent for a foldable phone four times, just two days following another patent appeared for a phone from the same company with front and back screens.
The company might launch this phone with the aforementioned technology in the future if it was able to implement the idea, and although the current Samsung foldable phones fold twice, either horizontally in fold phones or vertically in flip phones, the new patent shows a phone that can be folded four times by 180 degrees .
The new technology uses a flexible screen that can be stretched or twisted when needed, and the shapes and diagrams in the patent show that the screen can be twisted to become curved.
Another variation of the patent shows that the screen can be bent 180 degrees to form a semi-circle. Interestingly, the patent shows that the display panel is so versatile that the phone can be worn around the wrist like a watch.
Samsung is seeking to achieve flexibility through a control unit, a folding sensor unit, and a foldable screen, and it includes a fold sensor, a proximity sensor, a touch sensor, a pressure sensor, and a piezo sensor, and the patent does not explain how this mechanism works, but says that the foldable screen when it is bent to that extent does not lose its properties. Thanks to the folding sensor.
The control tool communicates with the foldable screen and folding sensors, to record the user’s touch in the four areas of the screen, and there is no information available regarding when this idea will be implemented in reality, or whether this is possible, since the technology is nothing but a patent or ink on paper.
And spread some pictures that can be a design of a conceptual and imaginary model of the phone and its idea.
