This model has two screens at once: the main one and the external “paper” one.

Lenovo company presented a prototype of a laptop whose back cover can change color and display different images. The model is called ThinkBook 13x Gen 4 SPE.

The unique feature of the laptop is made possible thanks to the additional screen located on the back of the laptop. The display is built using E-Lnk technology, so it does not consume energy while displaying a static image.

The user can choose from thousands of screensavers. This could be, for example, wallpaper that complements the design of the laptop, or widgets with a clock, calendar and other utilities. The display is capable of processing 8 colors and supports animated images. The back panel will not go dark even when the laptop is closed and turned off.

The characteristics and prices of the chamaleon laptop are unknown. For comparison, the regular version of the hinkBook 13x Gen 4 costs $1,399 and is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 chip, integrated Arm graphics, 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB SSD, 75 W battery, 3.5-inch touch display with 2.8K resolution and Dolby Vision support. The laptop supports Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E, and also has four Harman Kardon speakers.

Sales of the classic laptop will start at the beginning of 2024, the chameleon is still unclear.
