Asuncion, IP Agency.- Currently, 478 health facilities in the 18 Health Regions implement the Health Information System (HIS) tool, which has registered 25,072,829 consultations since the start of the project, according to the Ministry of Public Health. Some 40 were added in June of this year.
This technological advance in healthcare facilities nationwide represents a great step towards the efficient organization of human resources, improving the quality of care processes in health services, through the collection of data in real time, and allows knowing the stock in pharmacies, recording the medical history of patients, among other benefits.
This year alone, some 6,216,512 consultations were recorded, allowing more people to have their electronic medical records. This shows the exponential growth in the implementation of this system at all levels of healthcare.
This project is promoted jointly by the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPyBS) and the Technical Mission of the Republic of China (Taiwan), through the “Project for the Improvement of Efficiency in the Management of Health Informatics (Phase II)”, and has the support of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MITIC), KOICA, Itaipú, the World Bank and the IDB.
