INNOVATION. A revolutionary engine without CO2 emissions invented in the Landes

The prototype imagined by engineer Jean-Pierre Gervais might contribute to solutions to combat climate change. Designed from recycled materials, this engine does not cause any combustion and therefore does not emit any carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

Innovation is great, both ecologically and technologically. This explosion-free engine works thanks to a thermo-gravitational wheel. The temperature difference creates a force, which turns the axis. ” To heat the air, we use solar radiation, even diffuse.”, explains the thermal engineering teacher.

The principle is to heat the air on one side, the water will decrease. The gas will expand, it will cause less weight in my bottle. This difference in weight will generate a force on this axis.

This thermodynamics enthusiast worked on this project for five years. ” For me, it was a big personal investment to research the materials and how to put them together to find the right movement.”. After numerous sacrifices, he found the solution. To function, Jean-Pierre uses simple elements: water, air, aluminum and some biosourced materials.

Concerned by environmental issues, the fifty-year-old set out to make his invention as ecological as possible. In fact, this engine does not produce emissions, since there is no combustion.

The priority is to reduce CO2, or to find systems without CO2 production.

The project is patented at the start of 2023, and Jean-Pierre Gervais is thinking big. In the same way as wind turbines or photovoltaic panels, the inventor wants to make it an engine for the recovery of renewable energy. “I already have contacts who would already be very interested in producing spirulina, or brewing their water basins in an ecological way.”

Next step, obtain scientific and financial support, because the project is not set in stone. Jean-Pierre Gervais wishes to continue to develop this model, and improve it on a larger scale.
