The murder sparked a wave of outrage, especially from the Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (Scpcr), which warned that it will recommend to the state administration to withdraw recognition of the school.

“That in Hathras they sacrificed a second-year student for the prosperity and fame of the school is shameful. We will take appropriate measures and I will ask that the school’s recognition be withdrawn,” Anita Agarwal, a member of the agency, told the state agency ANI.
