Gaza City: Al Jazeera Gaza Bureau Chief Wael Aldahdouh mourns in front of the body of his son Hamza Aldahdouh, who was killed in the Israeli attack. ‘Hamsa was not a part of me, he was my everything. He was the soul of my soul. “These are tears of separation and loss, tears of humanity,” Wail said emotionally.

‘We are telling Hamza and all the martyrs that we will fulfill our vows. This is the path we have chosen voluntarily. We are watering it with blood’ – he clarified.

“The whole world should be watching what is happening in Gaza. A great injustice is being done here to common people who have no resistance. Israel is also doing injustice to us journalists’ – added Wail. He was speaking to Al Jazeera following his son’s body was buried. He also stated that he will continue to report on the war.

Hamza’s last post on ‘X’ account was regarding his father. ‘You are the patient and the seeking reward. My Father, therefore do not despair of redemption, do not despair of God’s mercy. God will reward you well for your patience’ – Hamza wrote on ‘X’ on Saturday.

Dahdouh’s son Hamza Aldahdouh and AFP reporter Mustafa Turaya were killed on Sunday. This brings the number of journalists killed in Gaza to 109 since October 7.

Several members of Wa’il Dahdouh’s family were killed in an Israeli attack in October. His wife Umm Hamza, 15-year-old son Mahmood, seven-year-old daughter Sham and grandson Adam lost their lives.
