According to the Israeli Channel 12, the shooting operation in Jerusalem was a complex, and took place in 3 separate places, as it targeted an Israeli bus, then a vehicle, and a number of settlers.

According to preliminary information, a gunman entered the bus and started shooting indiscriminately at whoever was in it, then withdrew and ran away in the darkness.

The newspaper’s website also stated that the first accident resulted in two bus passengers, two men in their thirties, seriously injured, when the driver was helping a disabled woman to board the bus using the elevator. The second shooting took place a few meters from the first scene, at the entrance to the parking lot of King David’s cemetery, in which 4 men and a woman were injured.

The reporter added that “the Israeli police summoned helicopters to search for the perpetrators of the operation.”

Immediately following the attack, large Israeli police forces were deployed in various places around Jerusalem.

And Israeli media reported that “the police carried out a storming operation in the Silwan neighborhood, east of Jerusalem.”

Last week, the Israeli army launched a preemptive operation in the Gaza Strip once morest the Islamic Jihad movement, which responded by firing a batch of rockets towards Israel.
