Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler is threatened with missing the NBA play-in match against the Chicago Bulls, Saturday (20/4) WIB, due to a knee injury.

Butler was injured after colliding with Kelly Oubre Jr, who fell onto the Heat player’s right leg in the first quarter of the play-in match when the Heat lost 105-104 to the Philadelphia 76ers, Thursday (18/4) WIB.

Butler was able to continue the game and recorded 19 points and 5 steals but was clearly limping at the end of the game.

There has been no official statement from the Heat, but the United States (US) mass media reported that Butler suffered an MCL injury and was sidelined for several weeks.

As for Butler, after the match he said he would undergo an MRI examination on Friday (19/4) WIB.

The winner of the NBA play-in game between the Heat and Bulls will be ranked eighth in the Eastern Conference and will face the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs.

Last year, the Heat also appeared in the playoffs via the play-in round. They reached the NBA finals after beating the Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals before losing to the Denver Nuggets in the final. (AFP/Z-1)
