Injured in Yara Yara: “We lost everything”

The solidarity of the Guyanese has been present with the donation of medical supplies. Collection centers were set up.

Of the nine patients admitted to the Uyapar hospital due to the explosion -caused by a gas leak on Sunday morning- in Yara Yara, six have been transferred to clinics and other health centers to undergo surgery for different pathologies, such as open fractures and other severe trauma.

Official agencies indicate that the 12 injured citizens are under medical observation and that with the collaboration of citizens, church foundations and government support, it has been possible to collect the necessary supplies for the recovery of patients.

Family members testified RECEIPTSThat they are grateful for all the steps taken to help them “in this very scary time.”

They state that until now, the government agencies have not indicated whether they will receive support to recover the “destroyed” structures and material losses generated by the explosion in Tower 1 of the Las Palmeras Residential Complex; nor of possible provisional places.

Unofficially it was learned that the condition of patients hospitalized in the Burn Unit of the Ruiz y Páez hospital is delicate.

For them it is required: Protosulfil, solution, dressings, antiseptic soaps, analgesic serums and gloves (all for burns).

Testimonials

Yudith Quiñones, 54 years old, is one of the patients who is hospitalized in Uyapar. She occupied one of the apartments on the first floor with her 20-year-old daughter and a 17-year-old friend of the girl.

Quiñones recounted that before the incident, she was in her living room. The two girls slept in her rooms. But the explosion “happened very quickly. I didn’t pass out, debris fell on my back; in the middle of the dust and the wiring I tried to get to my daughter’s room. I saw her on the ground, face up and part of the second floor was on her face, but she signaled to me with her hand, that she was fine, ”she recounted.

Quiñones added that on Friday she had moved into the building so that her daughter might reside closer to the university, but “everything was destroyed, we lost everything. I rented that place, it’s not even mine, “he lamented.

Yuliveth Arias is 20 years old, according to VEN 911 Bolívar, she was the last person to be rescued, presenting severe head trauma. She was transferred this Monday from the hospital’s Emergency Room to the San Antonio Clinic, requiring oxygen due to intracranial intubation.

His mother states that two days before the explosion, Yuliveth had enrolled in the university since she is studying industrial engineering accompanied by her friend Alexandra, who lives in Los Pijigüaos, but who moved to Puerto Ordaz four days ago to study systems engineering. .

Alexandra was thrown into the street by the blast wave when she was sleeping in her room. She fell to the pavement face down. She broke her left arm and required surgery. She lost her front teeth, and every part of her body hurts.

The Vino Nuevo Foundation, the surveillance of the Las Garzas Urbanization and the Farma Humana pharmacy (Puerto Ordaz), are collection centers for those who wish to collaborate, they can also go directly to the hospitals.
