At least one person was injured in a gas explosion in Ansfelden (Linz-Land district) on Tuesday evening. A detached house caught fire in the incident, which is related to an earth drilling. Due to the further gas leak, the district captain ordered the evacuation of all residents of the 65 buildings in the endangered area, the police said.
During a deep drilling, water escaped and gas also escaped. After the fire brigade was called, an explosion occurred on a neighboring property, in which one person was injured with unspecified degrees.
