Passing through the show on Thursday Tower, he claimed to have experienced this era of degrading initiations during his internship in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (LHJMQ).

“I did not receive [des initiations] and it was part of the culture of hockey and the sport. […] There are very abusive initiations, “said the main interested party.

The 33-year-old indicated that these initiations must stop and that there is simply no point in keeping them in place.

“There are other ways to connect with your buddies. Stop it, we’re not here anymore, we’re in 2023.

Also, Jonathan Roy has launched a call for dialogue so that situations of this kind do not happen once more.

“I hope that, more and more, we are able to talk to each other so that there is a better evolution. I think the new generation is wonderful. [Voyez] how young people express themselves and understand a lot more things.”

The ex-doorman played three seasons under the orders of his father Patrick from 2006 to 2009.

The subject has received a great deal of media attention in recent weeks. After his testimony before the parliamentary committee to answer questions from elected officials concerning degrading initiations that may have occurred within the league, the commissioner of the QMJHL, Gilles Courteau, submitted his resignation.
