Asunción, IP Agency.- This Tuesday, the mission of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) officially began, with a view to the profile of the project for the sanitation of the Ypacaraí Lake basin within the framework of the IDB-Clima funds.
The first working session, which included the participation of the IDB, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (Mades), addressed a review of the objectives, background of the Ypacaraí Lake Basin problem, circular economy plan and sanitation plan, as well as investment needs.
In the followingnoon, in the second session, alternatives for technical solutions, socio-environmental considerations and needs related to complementary studies on climate change will be discussed.
Just like the economic aspects, technical issues, social and environmental impact. Representatives of MOPC, IDB, Mades and National Environmental Sanitation Service (Senasa) are participating in this meeting.
Work days will continue during the week
The activities of the IDB mission extend throughout the week, with field visits and working groups with the different institutions involved, according to the MOPC report.
The sanitation project of the Ypacaraí Lake basin is in charge of the Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (Dapsan), MOPC which works in coordination with the National Directorate of Management and Management of Lake Ypacaraí (Dinalaypa) and other dependencies to achieve the plotted objectives.
It should be noted that, last December, the Government and the IDB had marked a milestone in the fight once morest climate change by signing a momentous agreement during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP-28) in Dubai.
This agreement, focused on the climate agenda, positions Paraguay as one of the first countries in the innovative IDB-Clima program, which in our case contemplates the recovery of this natural heritage of all Paraguayans.
