AFTER a long process, the humanitarian agency International Networking for Humanitarian (INH) succeeded in distributing a number of humanitarian aid packages to isolated locations in the North Gaza Strip. The exact location is in the Jabalia, Bait Lahia, Bait Hanoon, Shaikh Radwan and Shojayah refugee camps.
The five refugee camps in northern Gaza are the worst hit locations since the Israeli army attack on October 7 2023. “Thank God, following going through a long process, INH’s humanitarian aid, which was the result of fundraising from the Indonesian community, we distributed to the worst hit locations since the Israeli army attack on Gaza Strip,” said Ibnu Hafidz, INH Program Manager, Thursday (21/3/2024).
According to him, the humanitarian aid that was successfully distributed included hot meals, winter aid, cash, clean, ready-to-drink water, clothes for refugees, and basic food packages for families of war and genocide victims. “The northern part of the Gaza Strip is the worst hit area. Almost all the buildings in that location were razed to the ground. Very little humanitarian aid has entered the northern area of Gaza,” he said.
Currently, continued Ibnu, more aid is going to the southern Gaza area, such as the Raffa area, Khan Younis, and the Egyptian border areas. Meanwhile, other areas in the northern Gaza Strip have very little assistance because these areas have been devastated and isolated and vulnerable to death threats.
“Our volunteers continue to move quickly to be able to continue to help distribute food and logistics to refugee camps, such as ready-to-eat food which we cook using firewood because there is a lack of raw materials there,” he added.
This Ramadan, added Ibnu, his party continues to distribute ready-to-eat food packages to refugees in the area. He hopes that the distribution can continue to run smoothly and that Gaza residents can carry out their fasting prayer wisely despite all the shortages.

“We would like to thank the donors who have participated in making the humanitarian aid program for Gaza a success. We will continue to open donations for humanitarian purposes until the Gaza Strip is declared safe from war,” he stressed.
Previously, the UN humanitarian office had said it might not send aid trucks to northern Gaza because of the war raging in the besieged enclave. Even the UN equates North Gaza as hell on earth.
The death rate in the northern Gaza Strip is considered very high. Not only that, the lack of incoming aid also has an impact on increasing the number of hungry people in the region. Hospitals in Gaza are filled with child patients who are starving and acutely malnourished.
One of them is six year old Fadi al-Zant. He was acutely malnourished, his ribs protruding under rough skin, his eyes sunken. He is bedridden at Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza. (Z-2)
