A very close fight that demonstrated the undeniable talent of our Colombian boxer. During the first round, Ingrit’s strength and skill were remarkable, however, the judges awarded the victory to her opponent with a score of 3-2. For the second round, the Kazakh continued to excel in the ring, until in the third encounter, and despite the Colombian’s efforts to remain firm, the judges named Kyzaibay the champion.

With this defeat, Ingrit Valencia achieved a new Olympic diploma for Colombia, the seventh for our country in this edition of the Olympic Games. In addition, the 35-year-old boxer is already positioned among the top 8 of the competition.

Let us remember that she has been the only Colombian woman with an Olympic medal, which she obtained in Rio 2016 in the flyweight category.
