The woman was found to have committed suicide at home. Vishnu, 29, a friend of Poovar Parinayam, was taken into police custody in connection with the incident. Gopika (26) was found dead at Pallivathukkal house, Cheerankode, Kottukonam, Kunnathukal. She is married and the mother of a 6-year-old child. The incident took place yesterday morning. Gopika and Vishnu have been friends for years. Vishnu had recently sent a WhatsApp message to her husband mentioning her relationship with Gopika. A screen shot of this was also sent to Vishnu Gopika. This is known to be the reason for their suicide. There have also been financial transactions between them.
After Gopika informed Vishnu through a live video that he had decided to die, he rode his bike to Gopika’s house. Gopika is said to have committed suicide when the window glass of her locked house was smashed. An autorickshaw was called from a nearby stand and Karakonam was rushed to a private hospital with the help of a driver, but his death was confirmed. Vishnu, who was trying to escape from there, was detained by the security personnel and handed over to the police. He may be arrested today on suicidal intent charges.
