Five new regions in epidemic phase

These are Brittany, Centre-Val de Loire, Normandy, New Aquitaine and Pays de la Loire. The trend was also “up in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Brittany, Centre-Val de Loire, Grand Est, Hauts-de-France, Normandy, New Aquitaine, Pays de la Loire and Provence. -Alpes-Côte d’Azur”, according to Public Health France. In the other regions, the health agency specifies that “the indicators were stable”.

Who are the serious cases?

“The share of children among serious cases of influenza admitted to intensive care remains at a level significantly higher than what is usually observed (32% of all cases in 2021-22, less than 15% in previous seasons) “, notes the agency.

Clearly, the circulation of the epidemic also results in deaths “in all age groups, including children”.

In the hospital, the passages for influenza are in “clear increase”: 2,890, +28% in one week with an increase in hospitalizations of 36%.
