A plus-size fashion influencer claims she was the victim of cyberbullying after posting a video online of her struggling to get help on a Delta plane to fasten her far-too-short seat belt.

The upset TikToker, who calls herself Samyra, got into trouble after sharing a video of her mishap with her 1.6 million followers.

The video, which quickly went viral, shows the troubled traveler asking for an extender for her seat belt, a common solution for overweight airline passengers.

“Did you see how short that belt was?” the influencer wrote in the caption of her video.

The traveler, however, faced a barrage of negative comments, with some insisting that the humiliating incident was “a sign” telling Samyra that she needed to change.

“The belt is not the problem,” quipped one Internet user.

In response to this torrent of often offensive comments, Samyra quickly published a second video, this time to denounce the people who shared grossophobic comments.

“To everyone who is concerned about my health in the comments. You should also be concerned about my health and safety on an airplane,” she argued.

Many people rushed to his defense in the original video.

“You look so nice, your energy shows! I don’t know why these comments are so negative, I’m sorry!”

“This woman has nothing to apologize for. She was polite and patient.”

“Literally, why is everyone evil?”

“If my neighbor can order alcohol for the entire trip, I can at least get a seat belt extender.”

This is not the first time that an influencer has attacked Delta for its seat belts that are too tight.

Southwest Airlines recently adopted a policy that allows overweight customers to receive a second seat for free, if they need the space.
