Inflation in Colombia does not yield. Contrary to that, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) marked a new all-time high in August, registering an annual variation of 10.84%.

Of this total, the food division contributed 1.85% and is the one that most drives up the cost of living in the country.
According to the Dane, in August 2022, the greatest price increases were registered in the subclasses of onion (11.70%), arracacha, yam and other tubers (11.30%) and sugar and other sweeteners (6.84%).
That month, the greatest price decreases were reported in the potato (-9.31%), blackberry (-2.60%) and carrot (-1.76%) subclasses.

For its part, so far this year (January-August), the greatest price increases were registered in the cassava subclasses for home consumption (94.48%), onion (65.98%) and arracacha, yam and other tubers (60.39%). At the other extreme, the only decrease in price was reported in the potato subclass (-14.85%).
In the annual measurement (August 2021 to August 2022), the highest price increases are recorded in cassava for home consumption (131.08%), onion (92.81%) and plantains (65.89%) . The lowest price increases were reported in the raw panela subclasses for home consumption (2.02%), concentrates to prepare soft drinks (2.17%) and oats and their derivatives (7.03%).
