Inflation in Greece at 3% in September

In terms of headline inflation in the euro area, services are expected to have the highest annual rate in September (4.0%, up from 4.1% in August), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (2 .4%, vs. 2.3% in August), non-energy industrial goods (0.4%, flat vs. August) and energy (-6.0%, vs. -3.0% in August) . On a monthly basis, inflation in Greece was at 1.7%, followed by Portugal and Italy with 1.2%.

According to the Εurostat the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the eurozone fell in September to 1.8% annually from 2.2% in August and 2.6% in July. The index also slowed down in Greece, but without appreciable change, to 3% from 3.2% in August.

Based on the main components of Eurozone inflationservices are expected to be the biggest contributor with price increases of 4.0% versus 4.1% in August, while following the food (2.4%, compared to 2.3% in August ), non-energy industrial goods (0.4%, stable compared to August) and the energy (-6.0%, compared to -3.0% in August).
