Retired people can also benefit from the inflation bonus, open to employees since December 2021.
Like employees who must have a net monthly income of less than 2,000 euros to receive the prime inflation, retirees must receive a retirement pension of less than 2,000 euros net per month and be a French resident. The only difference is that the calculation is made for the month of October 2021.
To determine the amount of retirement pension affected in October 2021, different incomes are taken into account: the basic pension, the complementary one, the minimum old age and finally the survivor’s pensions.
Who pays the first inflation?
Depending on the situation of retired people, different organizations will pay the state aid. For the majority of cases, that is to say those who receive a pension from the general scheme, it will be the Retirement Insurance which will pay the 100 euros. On the other hand, if the person does not receive a pension from the general scheme, the pension fund (MSA, SRE, SSI, etc.) takes over.
For retirees receiving a disability pension, the inflation bonus will be paid directly by the fund paying the said pension. With regard to pensioners receiving the allowance for disabled adults (AAH), the CAF will be responsible for paying the state aid. Finally, in the case where the retired person has a professional activity, his employer takes over.
Please note that the inflation bonus will not be paid at the same time as retirement. It will be collected during the month of February 2022.
