InfiRay MATE MAH50 thermal imaging attachment with EP-Arms RotoClip in a practical test with video

Thanks to the short design of the housing, the focus on the InfiRay MATE MAH50, which is located above in front of the control panel, can also be operated well when in position.

We at all4hunters have already presented the thermal imaging attachment that this test is regarding in detail. You can find the report on it under this link. Now follows our first practical test: Not only at first glance does the InfiRay MATE MAH50 make a very robust impression. This is partly due to the very compact magnesium housing, on which an equally stable metal hinged cover protects the objective lens made of germanium. On top of the housing, which is only 14.6 centimeters long and weighs 530 g, there is a rubber-armored control panel with four buttons and the focussing, which is a few centimeters further back than devices with focussing on the lens ring. On the left side of the case there is also the on/off button, a USB-C socket and a few tiny openings for the built-in microphone. There is a small dovetail bar on the right side, to which a short Picatinny Rail supplied can be attached if required. Alternatively, this can also be placed on the two small sockets on the underside of the housing. Incidentally, the housing is protected once morest dust and moisture according to the IP67 standard. Which further supports our first good impression in terms of quality and durability. So: Off to the station for the test.

Only 4 buttons: The InfiRay MATE MAH50 thermal imaging attachment has a well thought-out and intuitive operating concept

With the InfiRay MATE MAH50, the control panel can be turned into a remote control.

The magnetic control panel of the InfiRay MATE MAH50 can be detached and used as a remote control.

The control panel sits on the housing in a bowl-shaped holder and is held in place by a strong magnet. It can be easily removed and converted into a remote control. To ensure that nothing happens to the contacts in the holder, InfiRay also supplies a magnetic cover plate. The “remote control” can then be attached to the gun ergonomically for the shooter using the magnet or an additional bracket.

When the device is switched on, all functions of the menu can be controlled via the four buttons on the control panel. This also includes the setup and zeroing in of the attachment. We will soon show you how zeroing works in another report. A total of four gun shot profiles can be saved. Of course, this makes it easier to switch to the target optics of another weapon.

But all operating functions can also be controlled with these four buttons. So you can use it between the four possible color modes White hot, black hot, red hot, and rainbow or the three scene modes Change forest, plain, city. When charging the MAH50, the control panel should then be placed back in the original holder so that its internal battery can also be recharged.
