Infections and deaths from covid-19 continue to drop in Colombia

The number of people infected and deceased by covid-19 in Colombia they reflected a small decrease in the last week, between September 9 and 15.

The Ministry of Health reported 1,245 new cases and 38 deaths in the last week, while 1,397 people recovered from the disease.

The area of ​​the country with the most infected people is Bogotá with 321, followed by Antioch, which registered 294, and Valley with 85.

The departments with the fewest cases are: Meta (71), Norte de Santander (66), Cundinamarca (50), Santander (49), Nariño (34), Arauca (31), Cartagena (28), Boyacá (27), Barranquilla (26), Cauca (20), Guajira (18), Casanare (16), Risaralda (14), Santa Marta (14), Caldas (11), Córdoba (10), Huila (9), Cesar (8), Tolima (8), Quindío (7), Atlántico (6), Magdalena (6), Putumayo (5), Caquetá (3), Amazonas (2), Sucre (2), Vichada (2), Bolívar (1) and Vaupes (1).

As for deaths, Antioquia reported four deaths; all showed up in Medellin, while Bogotá presented nine and it is the zone of the country with more people deceased during the last week.

Since the start of the pandemic in Colombia and to date, the country has reported 6,305,562 cases, 141,746 deaths, while 6,132,645 people have recovered from the disease.

For the week of September 9 to 15, the ministry reported the performance of 56,224 tests (19,801 PCR and 36,423 antigen).
