It’s been a little over two years since the last longplayer “Dead Aesthetics” by INFECTED CHAOS, which represents a union of Tyroleans and Bavarians, passed. Now a short EP with a long name “Conjuration Overture, Vanity Is Dawning” follows and makes you want more.
The men are strongly rooted in melodic death metal, but have been daring to step out of their comfort zone for a long time and on this EP they offer epic excursions with a slight tendency to bombast, traditional death and also a few thrash elements as well as big and complex melodies as well as extreme sounds. The songwriting also has a progressive feel, there are always small surprises, changes in tempo and mood swings. Accordingly, Chris Fischer’s singing is quite varied.
From the big name George Fisher to Chris Barnes with their deep old-school vocals to more modern and hoarse vocal excrescences, some of which look like Scandinavia, everything is there and so the four tracks are loading, all of which were very well produced and put together with great attention to detail Definitely something to discover and, as mentioned at the beginning, leave you wanting more!
