FIFA President Gianni Infantino congratulated Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahly Club, for winning the bronze medal in the FIFA Club World Championship, which took place in the United Arab Emirates.
Al-Ahly won the bronze in the Club World Cup following beating Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia in the match to determine the third place by four without a response.
Infantino sent a letter to Al-Khatib, saying: “I would like to congratulate you once once more on the occasion of your club’s winning of the bronze medal in the Club World Championship.”
He added: “You have achieved a new achievement, and I am sending you this message to pay tribute to everyone who contributed to achieving this victory, whether they were players or the technical, administrative and medical staff.”
“I am also pleased to pay tribute to your wonderful fans who were present at this tournament,” he added.
He continued: “There is no doubt that this achievement was achieved as a result of hard work, professionalism and attention to all details, in addition to love and passion for the game of football. All these things bode well for a bright future for your team, and will certainly open the way to achieving more achievements in the future.”
He concluded: “I wish you all the best… and I look forward to meeting you once more soon.”
