INE Precautionary Measures Against Morena’s ‘Corcholatas’: Latest Decisions and Updates

The National Electoral Institute (INE) granted precautionary measures once morest the routes of the ‘corcholatas’ of Morena.

The INE Complaints and Complaints Commission determined that the tours and events in which these applicants participate are proselytizing acts.

As part of the precautionary measures, the Commission ordered the informative assemblies to be held in closed places or spaces that belong to the party, such as its state and municipal offices.

The events must also be directed at militants and supporters of Morena, so electoral expressions will not be allowed either.

The INE indicates that before each act, whether it is a tour or an informative assembly, this determination must be explicitly informed.

Through a statement, the INE reiterated the obligation to comply at all times with the limits and constitutional parameters, in addition to conducting themselves in accordance with the principles of legality and equity.

The ‘corcholatas’ of Morena, who have incurred in these acts are Claudia Sheinbaum, Adán Augusto, Marcelo Ebrard, Manuel Velasco, Ricardo Monreal and Gerardo Fernández Noroña.

The INE reported that for almost a year and a half, Morena’s presidential ‘corcholatas’ have accumulated a total of 227 complaints to the institute for activities related to the 2024 elections. AMLO’s ‘mañaneras’ have been a constant source of these complaints, according to data from the same INE.

This has been the latest decisions of the INE

This INE decision is in addition to the one issued on Thursday by accepting Xóchitl Gálvez’s complaint once morest President Andrés Manuel López Obrador regarding gender violence once morest him.

The INE resolution was that the president should not mention the senator or refer to the electoral process during his morning conferences.

López Obrador assured in his ‘morning’ on Friday that he had not yet been notified of that resolution.
