The Complaints and Reports Commission of the National Electoral Institute (OTHER) issued precautionary measures and preventive protection to the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador for the dissemination of government propaganda during the process of revocation of mandate.
Through a statement, the electoral body explained that the Complaints and Denunciations Commission resolved four precautionary measures promoted by the PAN, PRI and PRD once morest the organization ‘Que Sigue la Democracia’, the president of the Republic and the president of the National Executive Committee of Morena and the party, among others, for the dissemination of government propaganda in a prohibited period and for the undue promotion of Morena and its national president of the revocation of mandate; as well as the promotion of revocation by citizens.
The commission considered that in the morning conference of March 21, 2022 were released “government activitieslinked to the achievements and actions of the government, such as the opening and operation of the Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA), by highlighting the coverage, investment and benefits that said work entails, which, in appearance of good law, might constitute government propaganda and is prohibited during the process of revocation of mandate“.
The collegiate body considered once more that the legislative interpretation criterion that was published on March 17 at this time is not applicable to the Revocation of Mandate process, in accordance with what is maintained by the Specialized Regional Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation.
