FORMER Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan will form a community organization (ormas) or political party (parpol) after it was confirmed that he would not run in the 2024 Pilkada.

It is known that the name of the party formed by Anies has gone viral on social media, namely the Indonesian Change Party. Anies’ spokesman, Sahrin Hamid, confirmed that his party is currently working on plans to create the political party. “That’s right. It is currently being formulated by Mas Anies’ team,” Sahrin explained to Indonesian MediaMonday (2/9).

Sahrin also explained that in the shortest possible time there will be a political party initiated by Anies. “Yes. Currently in the process of formulating the team,” said Sahrin.

Sahrin did not rule out the possibility that Anies would discuss with the top brass of existing political parties to smooth his plan to form a new political party.

Former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is considering forming a political party after failing to run in the regional elections. The possibility was announced on his personal Instagram account.

“We’ll just see in the future whether we will create a new political party. Like this, to gather all the spirit of change,” said Anies on his personal Instagram account.

Anies said he saw many people who were in line with him to make changes in Indonesia. He saw that the voices had to be accommodated by a new party. (J-2)
